The tenement house was built in the second half of the 16th century, and already in the following century, it was expanded, including the addition of characteristic arcades. It owes its name to one of the owners - an Italian named Wilhelm Orsetti

The house was constructed in 1570, as a brick building. Major changes in its appearance were made possible by one of its most renowned owners - the banker and merchant Orsetti. Around 1630, he added masonry arcades, and at that time, an additional floor was built, and the tenement house gained a decorative attic. Over the following years, its owners changed, and since 1945 it has served as the Museum's headquarters.
A visit here is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the city. The first floor houses exhibits related to e.g. militaria and local crafts. Through the collection of paintings gathered here, one can acquaint themselves with the former residents and owners of Jarosław. However, the most representative room, both in the past and today, is the Grand Hall, furnished with Italian furniture and Gdańsk cupboards, with the original flooring preserved. It was here that various events took place, including signing agreements with merchants and receiving guests.
The upper floor, which used to be a private area, has retained this character. By visiting the exhibitions on the upper floor, one can travel back in time and feel like a wealthy townsman from the past. The upper rooms, which were once used as residences for special guests, are decorated with splendor. It was there that the wife of the Duke of Transylvania, Francis Rakoczy II, once stayed. Among the bourgeois interiors, you can see dining rooms, a maiden's room, and an eclectic parlor.
To acquaint yourself with the interiors of one of the most magnificent tenements in the city, you should visit the market square in Jarosław. The former house of Wilhelm Orsetti is located right in the heart of the city.
